Out of all of the months in 2025 so far – and yes, I know we haven’t completed that many yet! – May has been one of the most spontaneous, adventurous and awe-inspiring ones I’ve experienced in a long, long time. I’m both surprised and saddened that it’s nearly over already, although I have some big plans for June that I’m excited to get a little closer to!
Before we jump ahead, however – the proper attention and gratitude must be paid to May 2025. It changed my life and my very outlook on it in so many beautiful, profound ways, and was spent in the company of people I love and cherish the most – which made it all the more magical.
I had started the month by recapping an early Mother’s Day outing I’d taken my mom to in Boston since I was going to be away for the actual holiday. We enjoyed high tea in a beautiful wing of a historic library and then explored remnants of the Titanic just down the street. She still brings up how much she enjoyed it, by the way!
In-between packing my suitcase and carry-on at the beginning of May, I had also shared my current Springtime skin and hair care collection – which got plenty of use on my trip!
But it was the said trip I embarked on to Northern Italy with my boyfriend, Troy, just a few days after that post was published that was the true highlight of the month. I had shared what I could, when I could, given how active we we were during our getaway – writing about the first leg of our journey while I was still abroad, and reserving the second half of our trip for when I’d been back home for a couple of days and was still reacclimating to the time zone and weather changes.
I’d also shared the details of an absolutely amazing outdoor sculpture/art trail we’d visited near Lake Ledro and my own attempts at recreating a popular dish we’d savored there in the days after my return to the States, as well.
It truly was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m so, so grateful I got to be there for as long as I was with someone I love so very much. It still feels like an absolute dream come true!
And now that I’m back to work, blogging and podcasting as normal again – I have to start looking ahead to June – where I’ve got some (hopefully) sunny days on the Coast planned, a “Summer-Ween” celebration in Salem, Massachusetts, and a check-in on my 2025 Resolutions – among many other things – including plenty of seasonal recipes and peeks inside of my closet now that my wardrobe has been refreshed for the Summer!
So here’s to May – a truly unforgettable month, indeed – and to each of our Junes being filled with just as much love, laughter, gratitude, beauty and great food!
See you all next week!
