A Few of My Favorite Things: April 2025

Good Morning and Happy Monday, everyone! Before we begin winding down the month of April and prepare to welcome May with open arms, I wanted to take the opportunity today to share a few of my favorite finds, purchases and gifts from these past few weeks that have made what has otherwise been a very busy and sometimes hectic month a little more calm, mellow and even silly at times in this latest installment of my “Favorite Things!”

This month has the somewhat unique distinction of having no miscellaneous odds and ends for me to share at the end of the post, so it’ll just be the handful of things I could photograph/document this time around with quick summaries and links for those who want to read or learn more about them.

And with that being said – I’m ready to get started!

I’ve been leaning into teas more and more these days, a trait I’ve undoubtedly inherited from my mother, who simply cannot begin her day or unwind when said day is over without a freshly brewed and piping hot cup of tea in her hand. While I still need my lattes to function adequately in the morning, I’ve also been enjoying a mug of tea in the afternoons when I need a pick-me-up, and this coconut cream loose leaf tea from Pinky Up has been one of my favorites as of late after I’d purchased it during my recent outing to Keene, New Hampshire.

This white tea has a distinct coconut cream pie taste – which is not only one of my favorite desserts, but it also a perfect tease of the tropics now that I’m anxiously waiting for the Summer to finally arrive!

And Pinky Up has a wide selection of other flavors and brews in their super cute packaging that I’m excited to try in the future, as well.

I don’t really talk about my cannabis or edible usage, since it’s not particularly frequent and I’m also very selective about the ways I consume or utilize it. Some gummies or infused-sweets have made me incredibly ill and disoriented in the past, and I have to specify that I’m looking for a “body high” instead of a “head high” when shopping around at any of my local dispensaries since body highs simply make me sink down into my bed or couch and sleep soundly – whereas head highs make me paranoid and anxious – the opposite of what I’m looking for when I consume any edibles!

Troy helped me discover these mango-flavored gummies from Good Tide during my last trip to Vegas after we’d stopped at a dispensary by his apartment and I’d explained to the salesperson how I was looking to feel versus what I was trying to avoid (i.e. – I wanted to feel relaxed without the grogginess the next day.)

These have been a lifesaver on restless nights or when I’m just trying to unwind for a few hours before they wear off slowly and smoothly. I only eat half a gummy per usage, which is more than enough to help me chill out for the evening – and they taste good, too!

I know following up a cannabis product by writing about snacks and/or beef jerky might be a little too on-brand for me, but here we are.

I also know that I am very, very late to the Chomps Appreciation Society meeting – but I only recently got hooked to their original and taco-flavored beef sticks after I’d grabbed a couple while looking for some protein-packed options I could enjoy after the gym when I needed to refuel a little bit.

I love that these are made with no weird ingredients and aren’t horrible to consume the way other jerky options usually are. These taste great and come in both convenient and mess-free packaging, which is always appreciated when I’m on the go!

And finally, when my boyfriend sent me a picture of a caricature that had been done of him while he’d been at a recent grand opening event out in Vegas, I immediately told him I wanted it framed so I could hang it up somewhere in my apartment (after I got done laughing hysterically at how accurate it was, of course.)

So when Troy arrived at my door a couple of weeks ago for Easter weekend, he’d had this both framed and wrapped beautifully to present to me as a “just because” gift. It is not only one of my favorite things in April, but of all time, I think – and it’s since found a home on my bedroom wall so I can look at it and giggle every single day!

__________

And there you have it – another short and sweet “Favorite Things” compilation! I’m sure that May’s collection will be a little lengthier and packed since I’ll be including any and all things I pick up while I’m in Italy, but I’ll try not to go too overboard with it. No promises, though!

A little later on this week, I’ll have my full recap of April up on the blog before we dive into May, and then I’ll be sharing some photos from a really special and magical weekend I just spent in Boston. I’m so excited to talk about it!

See you all soon!
