OOTD: Belated Birthday Blooms…

Last Friday, when the sun was shining and the temperatures were comfortably cool, I met up with my dear friend, neighbor and photographer extraordinaire, Dan, to grab a mid-afternoon tea and hear about his recent birthday trip that had transpired earlier in the week as the month of April kicked off. Since I hadn’t been around to celebrate with him because of work, I asked him what he would have wanted to do to commemorate his special day if given the option.

When he mentioned just grabbing pizza and maybe a drink or two in a chill, low-key spot – I told him we were hitting the road for a much deserved “do-over” for his birthday. I took the remainder of the afternoon off from work and off we drove to Keene, New Hampshire – just a short distance away from the Pioneer Valley – and a place I really should write about more given how cute it is!

While I’ll have the full write-up of the places we visited and the food we ate (which was incredible!) here on the blog a little later on this week, along with another couple of cool spots I had visited over the weekend – I wanted to briefly talk about my outfit I wore for the afternoon – specifically this floral, short & puffy-sleeved top that I got a bunch of compliments on while we walked around downtown Keene while waiting for the restaurant we’d planned to visit to open for the afternoon/evening.

This was an Amazon find when I needed a last-minute “Springy” top to wear to a work event (I haven’t finished unpacking my Spring/Summer wardrobe yet!), but it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites since it’s super soft, breathable, and flattering – and the pattern is so pretty!

I paired this one with my lighter boot-cut jeans and my green, suede, mid-calf heeled boots to match the green in the shirt (and also because the ground was still a little damp from recent rainstorms) – but I didn’t need a coat or a sweater all day given how lovely it was outside!

And that was a blessing in and of itself – because why would I ever want to hide the sleeves? They were the cutest part!

This one is going to be making a lot more appearances in the coming weeks/months ahead – and I may even grab a couple of other patterns to add to my collection, as well!
