This past Saturday marked one of the first genuinely warm and sunny days we’ve had here in New England in quite some time. It also marked the beginning of Maple Season here in New England, with many of our local sugar houses offering pancake breakfasts, syrup sampling, and plenty of freshly-made products and goodies for sale.
Having just returned from North Carolina, and with Dan coming back from a family trip in Arizona only a few hours before my own plane landed in Massachusetts – we decided to catch up on our respective vacations over breakfast at one of our favorite sugar houses and family-owned farms. While I’ll have the full recap of the weekend here on ‘Coffee & Chiffon‘ in just a couple of days, I wanted to talk about the outfit (and headband!) I wore for the occasion, first!
We still have quite a bit of snow piled up around Western Massachusetts, so it seemed fitting to wear my après ski-inspired turtleneck sweater from Gleeivy, which is a more affordable version of the Atelier Extérieur one (and is just as cozy!)
I paired the sweater with some black leggings, some knee-high knitted socks, and my brown knee-high boots to keep my feet warm and dry while making my way through snow, ice and mud around the outside of the sugar house – but it was my white faux-fur headband (and ear warmer!) that I had the most fun with. Everyone, from our waitress to the people seated at our table with us, to some of Dan’s friends we ran into while out and about in town after breakfast – remarked at how comfy it looked – and it really was!

As excited as I am to break out my Spring wardrobe and accessories, I’m looking forward to getting a little more wear out of this ensemble in the weeks ahead – including during a drive up to Canada I have to make within the next couple of days as I sort out some passport/international travel plans I’ve got lined up within the next couple of months, and I’m excited to share those details soon!
I’m also thinking about picking up a couple more color variations of this sweater, since it really is so warm, soft, and cozy – and even though I don’t ski (at all!) – I think I can pull it off!
