Welcome Great Pumpkin…

It comes as no surprise that I love any and all things Fall and Halloween, and that I am truly living my best life this time of year. I’ve been a full-blown Autumnal girly since I was a little kid, and I don’t think I’m showing any signs of slowing down with my obsessions and habits any time soon. So it always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside when those who are nearest and dearest to me not only encourage my pumpkin spiced, spooky lifestyle – but actively participate in different seasonal activities with me, too!

For example, this past Friday night, Troy came along with me to Stockbridge, Massachusetts to check out the renowned Pumpkin Show at the gorgeous and sprawling Naumkeag Estate – which marked my first time attending!

We had taken a courtesy shuttle from the nearby Red Lion Inn and got there just as the sun was setting over the mountains, which set the stage for an absolutely magical evening. With over 1,500 carved Jack-O-Lanterns displayed around the grounds and gardens, all of which led to a mini-haunted experience on the first floor of the main house/mansion – and with plenty of delicious concessions to enjoy throughout – Troy and I had a wonderful time marveling at the creativity of each themed display while enjoying hot apple cider and pumpkin brownies.

I was so delighted with how much fun and how carefully curated everything was, and I highly recommend visiting this Halloween season if you’re in the area! You can reserve tickets on their website (linked above!)

Naumkeag also put on what I’ve heard is an equally impressive holiday light display – so I’m hoping to stop by again this coming Christmas season!

On Saturday night, after a day of baking desserts to bring with me – I headed to Hubbardston for the second annual “Girls Only Spooky Night” with my girlfriends at Stef’s mother-in-law’s cabin in the woods. While there, we played horror movie trivia around a campfire, enjoyed a couple of drinks (and Halloween-themed snacks!) before finally heading inside when it started to get cold out so we could dance around to music while playing rounds of pool for another couple of hours until it was time to head back home to my boyfriend and my heater.

It was seriously the best time, and I can’t wait for our next party!

A little later on this week, I’m sharing the aforementioned and Halloween-inspired desserts I had put together for the occasion before I head out over the weekend to some potentially haunted locations I plan on writing about next week!

I love spooky season!
