Local Loves: Ciesluk’s Farm Stand

I’ve been living in the Pioneer Valley for just over five years now, and while I’d been pretty familiar with parts of Western Massachusetts for much longer than that, having visited friends for many long weekends, holidays, celebrations, etc., before I moved to the area, there were still plenty of places I didn’t know about or hadn’t checked out until I got here.

And there’s still so many places I have yet to discover, too!

One of those locations I first stumbled on in the days after I finished unpacking my belongings into my current apartment, right next to my beloved Historic Deerfield, was Ciesluk’s Farm Stand on Greenfield Road (Route 5). I had spotted an impressive floral selection on display out front of their shop as I was driving by to get some groceries – and wanting to add some color to my brand new bedroom – I stopped to check it out.

And I’ve been going back regularly ever since! The family-owned farm still has plenty of beautiful flowers in the Spring through the Fall, for sure – but they also carry plenty of fresh produce, meat, dairy products, honey, and locally-crafted decorative pieces for the home year-round. I get so many of my seasonal fruits and vegetables there, especially when I’m cooking for a crowd, and will occasionally treat myself to the big, homemade cookies and baked sweets they sometimes have available when I drop in.

They currently have quite a selection of pumpkins and gourdes in and around their storefront, and I couldn’t resist snapping some photos when I stopped by earlier this week to grab a loaf of sourdough and some gigantic tomatoes for sandwiches I’m putting together for work and travel next week. It always looks so picture perfect there – and everyone is super friendly whenever I visit!

They actually had some incredible looking peaches available when I was there recently, so I have a feeling I’ll be visiting again this weekend while I’m out running some last minute errands before I leave for Maryland in a few days!
