If there ever was what could be considered a successful weekend to look back on fondly come Monday morning when it’s time to return to the office and get back to work, I’d say this past weekend was a perfect example of one since it was spent in the company of good friends, great food, absolute silliness and my family – and also by being completely unbothered when the weather took a turn for the rainy and stormy!
On Saturday night, after a day of errands and organizing for this upcoming week ahead since I’ve got meetings, appointments and events lined up nearly every day/night this week, I headed to my beloved Salem, Massachusetts for some wrestling-themed snacks and soap opera storylines at my friend Phill’s annual Summer Slam party. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this following WWE get-togethers we’ve had in the past, but I love how much everyone gets into it and how creative they all continue to be with their contributions. It’s SO fun.
And for the first time ever, I won the “Snack” Down Championship belt with my mini deep dish flour tortilla pizzas – which I had actually first shared here on the blog all the way back in 2020!
I will now have to defend my title with a new recipe at our next event for the Royal Rumble in the Winter, but I’ve already got a few ideas to extend my reign.
And then yesterday, after her mentioning to me a few times that she had wanted to head back because it’s one of her favorite spots for fried seafood platters, my mom and I packed up Oliver for a scenic road trip to Derry, New Hampshire to visit Clam Haven for a lunch of scallops, clam strips, haddock and plenty of fries to share. And despite the fact that we got there in the midst of a series of severe thunderstorms and torrential downpours that left us soaked for the entirety of the drive back to her house, it was well worth the trip.
Don’t let Oliver looking like a drowned rat fool you. He had a great time jumping in the puddles!
And now, it’s time to get back to the grind. A little later on this week, I’m going to be sharing my current seasonal skin/hair care products that I’ve been using religiously throughout this past Summer and cooking up one of my favorite breakfast recipes now that blueberry season is officially upon us!
Stay tuned!
