A Month to Remember: July 2024

Not since January has a month felt like it has lasted forever the way July has. I’m not complaining, by the way – since this past month has been absolutely superb and packed to the brim with a lot of travel to some of my favorite Summertime destinations in and around New England, plenty of quality time with my friends and family, and literal healing from the last of the dental work and surgeries I had first started undergoing back in June – just in time to wrap up these last weeks of the season with a smile!

As excited as I am for August and all the beach excursions and cross-country adventures I have planned for it, I first want to pay respects to July of 2024. So much has happened this month, and I’m forever going to look back on it all fondly!

I had kicked off this past month with a look into my current makeup collection (see: obsessions) that I’ve been religiously using over my sunscreen or on my bare skin since it’s been insanely hot out before it was time to prepare for Independence Day and a long weekend! While I shared a fun and patriotic outfit at a local classic car show as the month began, my actual July 4th holiday was spent with Troy and his family at his brother’s lake house where we played card games and set off fireworks that may or may not have come from over state lines.

Spoiler: They absolutely did. Thank you, New Hampshire!

Speaking of lakes, this month also saw me tipping my hat to one of my favorite spots in Ashfield, Massachusetts to visit in the Summer for a swim and a sunset viewing. I’m excited to head back again in August for more of the scenery and cool-downs!

Following the patriotic festivities, I finally had my problematic wisdom tooth extraction done – while remaining awake and alert – and while the recovery was not nearly as bad as the procedure itself, it still took a couple of weeks for me to fully heal and get used to chewing on both sides of my mouth again. With the last of my follow-ups recently completed, I cannot stress enough how truly grateful I still am and forever will be for the team who were tasked with my care throughout what could have been a grueling and traumatic process. They were phenomenal, and kind – and I’m so lucky to have had them!

In the tail end of my recovery, I returned to my beloved Hyannis for a day trip, grabbed drinks and tacos up in Rye after some extreme weather in the area, and introduced Dan to one of the coolest (and spookiest!) resorts in the White Mountains for a quick road trip for lunch with an unforgettable and stunning view.

Even this past weekend, I managed to head down to Ninigret Park in Rhode Island to see the newly installed troll sculptures by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. They’re so cool, and huge!

And now, with August just hours away, it’s time to look ahead. I’m excited for a party in Salem and a planned girls weekend in Maine with some of my friends in the coming days where we’re going to set off with some sailing, enjoy lobster rolls and maybe a couple of cocktails for good measure – with all of this leading up to my planned vacation in Southern California and Las Vegas at the end of next month where I’m going to be exploring some new places, catching up with old friends, and checking out some live music in the desert!

I’m so excited to close out the Summer on a high note – although the entire month of July has pretty much been one continuous high note in itself – so I’m feeling good about it!

Here’s wishing you all a beautiful month ahead. I’m so looking forward to sharing more of my adventures!
