A Month to Remember: June 2024

And just like that – June 2024 is coming to a close! While making plans for Independence Day seemed like something I had plenty of time to do weeks ago, I’m now left frantically searching for a recipe I can whip up for a cookout I’m attending next week, double checking booking/restaurant reservations I made for some Coastal getaways I have lined up in the coming weeks, and going through my planner and work calendar to balance out my caseload for what is historically the quietest month of the year at my office (other than December and the holidays, of course! I love vacation time!)

But first things first! June has been such a beautiful and consistently sunny start to the Summer season. I kicked things off by recapping my exciting and action-packed Memorial Day Weekend in and around Boston and Maine before it was time to pause, reflect on, and re-strategize the 2024 resolutions I had set for myself back at the beginning of the year.

This past month saw me exploring an almost-too-cute-to-be-real lavender farm in Connecticut, discovering my new favorite Western-inspired shop in Great Barrington, and traveling to Troy, New York to spend time with the Littles and meet the newest and cutest addition to their family!

I spent weekends cooking up hot dogs with friends and visiting lighthouses in Rhode Island before making my most recent two-day trip up to the picturesque mountains and rivers that run through Quechee, Vermont.

And of course, I shared some recipes and clothes along the way – as is tradition! – and I’ve got plenty more of those types of posts planned for July, as well.

But perhaps one of the biggest developments of this past June was the beginning of my dental journey following an injury/infection I sustained a couple of weeks ago. I have my second of four procedures planned this coming weekend- but I’m already seeing great results and feeling so much better with the care and treatment I’ve received so far – and I’m really looking forward to being pain-free and able to smile wide and cheesy in photos again without feeling self-conscious!

So what do I have planned for next month other than my emerging from the other side of that health journey? Well, Troy’s coming by for a quick visit here on the East Coast in a few days, I’m heading back to the ocean a whole lot more – and it’s almost time for me to stop by the Cape, y’all! East Coast Summers are some of the best, after all!

So here’s to June, a month that was filled with quality time with friends, family, healing and good health, beautiful weather and delicious Summertime food – and to July being just as blessed and busy (in a good way!) for all of us!

See you all next week!
