It’s been quite a while since I had a “Local Loves” spotlight on something in my own neighborhood- especially something that is within a short walking distance from my apartment- but given how beautiful (and hot!) the weather has been lately, it seemed like the perfect time to talk about one of my most beloved hole-in-the-wall – literally – places to get a refreshing scoop of ice cream or an iced latte this time of year!
Ice Cream Alley, located on Main Street in my very own Greenfield, Massachusetts, has been a Springtime/Summer staple in town since 2018. Serving a wide away of ice cream scoops, sundaes, milkshakes, floats and coffee drinks- all made from ingredients that are sourced from local dairy farms (and with some vegan options, too!) and all reasonably priced- this is one of my favorite spots to head over to on hotter days when I’m working remotely from home and need a little pick-me-up to cool off and unwind when my day ends.
The shop itself is tiny, and you may have to wait in a line outside while the one or two people that can fit in front of the counter place their order and pay- but it’s worth it- and they have a very cute, seasonal outdoor seating area where you can sit and enjoy your treats under umbrellas and string lights.

And they’re open daily and pretty late, too- so if you’d rather wait until after the late-afternoon, after-dinner rush to get your hands on a sundae- they got you covered. The staff is always friendly and fast, and have helped make every one of my visits (and believe me, there’s been a lot of them over the past few years) a great experience.
And if you’re wondering what my go-to on the menu is? A one-scoop mint chocolate chip sundae all the way!
I’m going to be taking Monday off from blogging since I’ll be away/out-of-state for Memorial Day Weekend, but I’m going to be back next Wednesday with a look at some of my favorite things from this past month- and a full recap of all things May 2024 (including this weekend’s Boston Calling music festival and my trip to Maine!)
I hope you all have a wonderful extended weekend ahead- and I’ll see you all soon!
