At the end of March, which was one of the most busy and nerve-racking months of my life, I had said that my goal for April was to simply rest, relax, get back into my routine and enjoy some travel- and for the most part- I was successful. Although a little more relaxation would have been ideal!
But what an exciting past few weeks it has been! Easter was right at the beginning of the month, so I first wrote about the small and quiet get-together I had with my family to celebrate the holiday before I got back into the “Blogging Business” by sharing my Springtime makeup collection as I often do around this time of year.
The first week of April also marked so many loved ones’ birthdays and their respective parties/celebrations. I attended bonfires, dinners, and a little tour of Northampton’s food and beverage spots (for Dan’s special day!) one right after the other- so there was no shortage of great meals and desserts.
I also stopped to smell the blooming flowers a lot on my days off/weekends. This included afternoon trips to Newport, Rhode Island for their annual “Daffodil Days” festival and events, strolls around Historic Deerfield to stretch my legs and watch the sunsets, and finally getting to revisit the beauty of Beacon Hill during an outing to Boston for books and brunch at one of the cutest and most unique spots ever.
I even compiled a little list of some of my absolute places for travelers/tourists to see peak blossoms and blooms if they come to my part of Western Massachusetts during the season.
This month saw me writing about one of my favorite New Orleans-inspired eateries in the Pioneer Valley and revisiting my beloved Mystic, Connecticut before it starts getting busier and more crowded in the Summertime- all while sharing the occasional recipe or “Outfit of the Day.”
And now here we are in the final stretch of April and I’m preparing to look ahead to May and the unofficial kickoff to the Summer season as Memorial Day Weekend is now on the horizon. I’ve got plenty more recipes and outfits to share in the weeks ahead, of course- but I’m also going to be heading back to the beach in May for the reopening of some of my favorite spots along the coast, exploring some picturesque lavender farms and kicking off festival season with the return of Boston Calling!

I’m also excited that I’ll get to share more outdoor dining spots in and around New England now that cookouts, BBQs, and food trucks are back for the warmer months. Like this fantastic spread I got to enjoy with Dan and his parents at The Bistro Box in Great Barrington this past weekend. How delicious does that look? (And it was!)
I cannot wait- but I do want to tip my hat to April one more time- because this month was pure magic and I’m hoping that May is just as wonderful for me, my friends and loved ones, and to everyone reading this right now!
Cheers!
