A Few of My Favorite Things: March 2024

Oh, March, you have been an absolute whirlwind of a month- in both good and bad ways (but thankfully, mostly good!) And while I’ll be giving you a proper send off a little later on this week before I get ready for Easter and all the things I have planned for April- I wanted to revisit some of the gifts, splurges, and finds that helped me navigate through these past few weeks with my sanity intact, first. That’s right, everyone- it’s my monthly “Favorite Things” post!

I’m going to share some of the things I was able to snap photos of before I dive into miscellaneous entertainment stuff and odds & ends I’ve also been enjoying throughout the month of March, so let’s get right into it since there’s quite a bit to cover this time around!

When it came time to swap out my Fall/Winter handbag for something that was a little lighter and brighter for the warmer months ahead, I opted to treat myself to a slightly more expensive purchase than some of my last few purses had been- especially since I’d still been feeling celebratory after Troy’s win in court earlier this month.

I opted for this sandy-toned satchel from Kate Spade since it’s beautifully made, matches everything in my wardrobe, and has enough room for all of my essentials (and then some!) Everything stays in place, so I never have to worry about having to rummage around to find my car keys or my lip gloss- and the more important/valuable stuff is easily hidden- so I feel so secure when carrying this around town or when I head into my office!

I know perfumes/fragrance often make appearances in these types of posts since I obsessively collect them, but I have been especially obsessed with this pistachio-and-vanilla-scented body mist from Fine’ry (available at Target!) this past month. Specifically, this lightweight fragrance is my go-to post-workout mister, and is also something I spray around my bedroom and apartment after I clean or tidy up to keep things smelling fresh and a little decadent.

This comes in a more concentrated perfume version, as well- but I like how light the mist is since it’s not overpowering when I apply it at the gym or at work. It’s just a subtle little refresher throughout the day and fits easily in my purse while my more expensive and stronger perfumes in glass bottles stay safe on my nightstand when I’m out and about!

Speaking of the gym and post-workout refreshers, I’ve been trying to remain mindful about staying hydrated now that Spring is here and I’ll eventually be spending more and more time outdoors. I find that when I have a cute bottle that keeps my water/shakes colder for longer periods of time, it’s easier to stay on track- and when I was gifted with this pastel pink and stainless steel bottle from S’well earlier this month- I knew this was going to be my default bottle for the Springtime.

This bottle holds 17 ounces of either hot or cold liquid and comes in a ton of different colors/patterns, so you can get more than one if you can’t decide which one you like best. Me? I’m perfectly content with my pink one!

It was really important for me to take breaks throughout this past month to practice small acts of self-care during the more tumultuous periods of the civil trial to keep myself calm and balanced (as much as I could be, anyway!) These small acts ranged anywhere from going for a quick drive to get some fresh air, enjoying some comfort food, or simply zoning out to mindless television shows while wearing comfy and cozy pajamas.

But a big one was skincare- particularly using a face mask a couple times a week to target any concerns with my complexion on any given day. I found that this series of compostable sheet masks from ESW Beauty gave me great results with each use- leaving my skin hydrated, smooth and glowing. The packaging, which is also 100% recyclable, is also super cute!

And at a $6 price point, these can’t be beat!

And finally, if it’s not already pretty obvious I’m ready for *actual* Spring to start any time now- then please let these little dessert plates from Sweet Laurel I’ve been serving anything and everything on as of late remind you that I am, in fact, over and done with Winter for now.

These ceramic plates (which come as a set of four) are gorgeous, and would make a perfect gift for a number of occasions. I’ve already ordered another set to give my mother at Easter this coming weekend- and I’m excited to use my own set as a backdrop for some future desserts I’m whipping up soon!

And while that may be it for photogenic finds this month, something else made the list for March 2024, as well!

– MOVIES/MUSIC/TELEVISION –

‘Quiet On Set’ – I was a 1990s Nickelodeon kid, growing up to shows like ‘Salute Your Shorts,’ ‘Hey, Dude,’ ‘Are You Afraid of The Dark?’ and ‘Clarissa Explains It All,’ and was gradually growing out of it just as the influx of many of the former child stars featured in this harrowing documentary were first making their way onto the network. Hearing their stories about the darker sides of stardom and the behind-the-scenes exploitation and perversion at the hands of adults who were supposed to protect them was heartbreaking, and a must-watch for anyone and everyone.

It’s streaming on most platforms right now, with a bonus episode scheduled to launch in April.

And there it is- another month (nearly) done and in the books- and a whole bunch of new things I’ve been loving to share and talk about! Feel free to share your own favorites for this month by reaching out and/or leaving a comment. I love to hear about them!

I’ll be back in a couple of days with that aforementioned look back on this month in it’s entirety, including follow-ups to the big events that happened and a look at my plans for the weeks ahead.

’til then!
