Post-Verdict Refresh…

With Troy having flown back to California in the very early morning hours yesterday after a successful verdict was reached in his defamation trial (and I’m writing a whoooooole thing about it later on this week now that I’m finally allowed to do so!) I’ve been readjusting to having my apartment all to myself again. He and I had been sharing my space and most of our time together since the very end of January, so it’s been sort of strange not having him here to eat breakfast with, make coffee for, etc.

He’s coming back in May, but still!

We had (correctly) guessed he’d get a verdict at some point this week, and knowing how the anticipation was gnawing away at us both this past weekend, we decided to take a brief drive up to Vermont. Not only to grab food at Vermont Country Deli, which I just wrote about earlier this week, but to also browse Twice Upon a Time and stroll through downtown Brattleboro since Spring is in the air.

It didn’t completely cure all of our anxiety, but it was still a really nice day.

And now with a huge weight off of our shoulders, more so his than mine since this has been *his* case for nearly five years- I’m now trying to reset both my sleep and eating schedule/habits, since stress and nerves took an absolute toll on both these past couple of weeks as the trial and deliberations were underway. I fell asleep so early last night and I think- I hope, anyway- that I can get things back to normal by this coming weekend.

Fingers crossed!
