It’s been a hot minute since I’ve spent a Saturday morning or afternoon out and about in Boston’s Seaport District. It’s not because I’m not a fan of the area or it’s wide array of bars and restaurants- but because my visits to the city almost always take me to the complete opposite sides of town or into the outer boroughs of Boston when I’m visiting friends and family.
I made it a point to stop by this past weekend, however- getting to the district bright and early on Saturday morning for the kickoff of the second annual “Snowport” holiday pop-up. I’d heard a lot of really great things about last year’s event, and was excited to see it for myself when they announced they’d be doing it again for the 2023 holiday season.
From now through December 31st, some of New England’s best and most beloved independent vendors and small businesses will have their goods, products, artwork and food/beverages available for purchase- which makes Christmas shopping so much easier when you can find unique and beautifully crafted things all in one place!
Some friends and I spent a couple of hours at the pop-up, going from booth to booth and sampling delicious things like gourmet hot chocolate and chicken empanadas. And although it’s still in it’s early days for the season- “Snowport” has a lot of cool and family-friendly upcoming events, too- like a holiday light ceremony, Christmas tree market and curling competitions- so there’s plenty of reasons to come back throughout the holidays!
I plan on heading back soon to pick up some items I had seen while browsing and that I know will make excellent Christmas presents for my loved ones- and I could seriously go for another salted caramel cocoa while I’m at there! They were amazing!
If you’re in or around Boston- be sure to stop by! There is legitimately something for everyone, and it’s sure to get you into the holiday spirit!
