Pre-Flight Check-In…

This week is a busy one for me, with working my full-time job, tying up some loose ends, running last minute errands and carefully packing for my upcoming three-week stay in Southern California. Given how long I’m going to be gone and how far from home I’ll be- I want to make sure I don’t forget anything so that I’m not scrambling to find a Target or a Sephora/Ulta the second my flight touches down. It’s a lot to plan- especially when I’m so indecisive on what clothes I’ll be wearing!

It’s been a long time since I’ve spent the days/weeks leading up to Halloween in and around San Diego and Los Angeles (the last time was when Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast and my flight home from California was cancelled. I ended up staying through the beginning of November!) and while I’m very much used to my New England-based Fall/Spooky Season activities and traditions- I’m excited to see how the West Coast celebrates my favorite time of year and my absolute favorite holiday.

I’ve got a few adventures and excursions lined up, some new places to visit and explore- and a night of live music (of course!) to look forward to- and I’ll be continuing to blog and share photos/videos throughout it all.

So with this past weekend being my last in New England for a few weeks, I knew I wanted to make it special. Dan and I kicked things off by having one more brunch at our beloved Wells Provisions before they close for good. I recently wrote about my love and appreciation for them, so it was bittersweet to stop by for what will likely be a final time. I made sure to grab one of their fried chicken tees for my collection, too. I had to!

Afterwards, since I’m not sure if I’ll be visiting any pumpkin patches or farm stands while I’m in California, I made sure to stop by Atlas Farm in Deerfield just as the rain cleared up to grab a couple of decorative ones for my windowsills while I’m away (they’ll be fine unattended!) I also made sure to pick up some of their Cinnamon Toast Crunch popcorn and plant-based chocolate bars to keep me going over the next couple of days.

It’s always good to treat yourself from time to time.

Later on this week I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite things from this past month, as is tradition- as well as recapping September in it’s busy and beautiful entirety before I head to the airport Saturday morning.

Stay tuned!
