A Month to Remember: August 2023

I have to keep reminding myself that as excited as I am for September, the Fall and all my favorite Autumnal activities, Halloween, etc., etc., that I need to practice being present and living in the moment just a little bit more- and that includes taking the time to bid a fond farewell to August (and Summer 2023 as a whole, really!) I can’t believe another season is ending already!

Both September and October are going to be crazy levels of busy for me, with a lot of adventures and travel planned (along the East Coast and in California, too!) before its time to get ready for the holiday season once again- so August was really the last sort of “relaxing” month I’ll have for a while- but that’s not to say I didn’t do fun stuff during these past few weeks, too!

I kicked off this past month in Connecticut, where I spent a weekend picking sunflowers and drinking frozen lemonade before heading out into the woods for a “Girls Only Day” poolside with longtime friends.

I traveled to one of my favorite general stores in Harvard, did some late-Summer shopping in New Hampshire, and shared my Summertime skin and hair care routine in-between whipping up recipes, posing in some of my favorite seasonal outfits and putting together some links/resources for those who were looking to help the people of Hawaii as they try to recover and rebuild.

Finally, I began wrapping up the month with a day at a local music festival and a New York-based wedding before visiting Sleepy Hollow and all of it’s unique and spooky charm in advance to it being flooded with tourists in a few weeks!

So with a new month just a couple of short days away- what’s on my calendar? Well, I’ve got an “Apple Cider Day” with Stef planned for next week to ring in the Fall properly. I’ll be stopping by Hampton Beach’s annual Seafood Festival for discounted beachwear for next year’s Summer season and plenty of lobster- and I’m heading to New Jersey in a couple of weeks to meet up with Andrew and the kids for one last outdoor music festival at the Shore!

And then, at the end of the month- I’ll be embarking on an extended stay in Southern California that will take me into mid-October. I have so many spooky things planned!

Of course I’ll be writing about and sharing photos/stories from along the way!

So with all that being said- here is a loving goodbye to August and Summer 2023. Sure, it rained a whole lot and yeah, the frequent tornado warnings were a bit much- but we still managed to have so much fun in-between them!

And here’s to September being one of the best ever!
