I am always down for traveling to unique, picturesque locations and indulging in great food and beverages. It’s a big part of why I launched ‘Coffee & Chiffon’ in the first place- since I wanted a space to write about the interesting places I went to and the delicious things I was eating while I traveled- be it more local and New England-based or destinations that were farther away from home.
So this past weekend, when Dan invited me to meet him at Quonquont Farm in Whately, Massachusetts to attend their annual blueberry festival- I jumped at the chance. A fully functioning farm that doubles as a beautiful event venue, Quonquont hosts the festival every Summer- with pick-your-own baskets, a blueberry-infused drink menu, food and ice cream trucks, and live music inside their renovated barn/performance space.
The berries weren’t quite ripe yet (they’re close!) but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the sunshine, songs, and blueberry-lemonade slushies.
After a brief stay at the farm, Dan had to head off for another assignment for work and I headed to Brattleboro to meet up with my friend Matt for lunch and an Aperol Spritz overlooking the Connecticut River at the River Garden Marketplace followed by some of the best chocolate cookie dough ice cream ever at Blueberry Haus.
This was, of course just days before we had a torrential downpour (with hurricane-levels of rainfall) that caused massive flooding throughout New Hampshire and Vermont- including sections of Brattleboro. I’m fortunate and grateful that my neighborhood wasn’t impacted too heavily and that road cleanup has been relatively quick and easy.
And I’m especially thankful that it’s not supposed to rain again for a couple of days to give everyone a break.

Never a dull moment in New England!
