Given that Memorial Day is a more somber holiday, I’m not sure if anyone says “Happy Memorial Day,” although I’ve heard a few “Happy Memorial Day Weekends” being thrown around here and there over the past few days. Regardless, I hope everyone is enjoying an extended weekend! I’m writing this from Old Orchard Beach in Maine after a long drive up the coast following a few days filled with live music, great food, and recovering from a sudden illness/ailment that I’ll get into a little later on this week when I do my full write-up about the month of May in it’s entireity!
First things first, however- I want to share a few of the products, purchases, finds and gifts that made the month of May extra special for me! That’s right, y’all- it’s a “Favorite Things” post! I’ll be kicking things off with some photos and details on the items I have available in-hand before I get into some of the miscellaneous odds and ends. You all know the drill by now!
Let’s jump right in!

To start this month’s installment, I wanted to share two bags I’ve been obsessed with. The first, this pink woven mini tote bag from A New Day was an impulse purchase I made when making my monthly Target run a couple of weeks ago and has become my new “always on me” Summertime accessory. Despite it’s size, this bag holds pretty much all my essentials- and it’s perfect for festivals, the beach, work, etc. It’s very cute!
Speaking of very cute, I am in love with this Baby Yoda/Grogu insulated lunch bag that was sent to me as a gift a the beginning of May. I’ve been using this now that it’s nice enough to enjoy my lunch outside when I’m working from home- and it keeps everything cold (or hot- depending on what I make!) with plenty of room to store snacks, beverages, etc.

When it came time to pick out a new Summertime hat for all my outdoor activities (my last one, which had lasted me years- was finally on it’s way out and was barely hanging on) I knew I’d probably have luck finding a suitable replacement at Target- and I was right! Also from A New Day, this brown straw boater hat keeps the sun out of my eyes and matches pretty much everything in my Spring/Summertime wardrobe!

In keeping up with my accessories for the month, when I went looking for some affordable but “ritzy” looking jewelry to wear to an event while I was in San Diego- a friend directed me to the Pavoi Jewelry storefront on Amazon where they had an assortment of unique, inexpensive options for necklaces, bracelets and earrings. One standout piece to me was this Cubic Zirconia “Love Ring” which I’ve been wearing pretty much non-stop to accentuate my recent manicures. It’s super comfortable, doesn’t turn my fingers green or anything- and looks stunning from a distance or up close!

Heading into the land of body care, I’ve been a longtime fan of the products from Sol de Janeiro- from the results I achieve with them to their delectable fragrance selections. Earlier this month I splurged a bit and treated myself to their limited edition ‘Rio Radiance’ body glow cream, which smells like a beach day during a tropical vacation- but also leaves my skin soft, smooth and glowing after I apply it. That’s not an exaggeration. My skin is quite literally sparkling after each use!
I’m going to be picking up more of this stuff before it’s gone for the Summertime- as well as the matching perfume mist!

And finally, no transition into the Summer is complete until I’ve stocked up on some of my favorite Yankee Candles for my apartment! Although there have been some breakout hits this year, for sure- it’s the Iced Banana Pop fragrance that has completely won me over (it’s one of my favorite hot weather snacks!) I recently picked up a bunch of these to keep in my bedroom and kitchen since th
They smell delicious- and I’m still thinking I should buy more!
And there you have it, the photogenic favorites from May 2023! I didn’t have a ton of time this month to catch up on any new shows or singles, so I’ve got nothing ro share under the miscellaneous category this time around- but I’m sure it’ll change by the time we reach the end of June!
I’ll be back in a couple of days with my sentimental look back on the month of May before we get into all things cute and Coastal once I’m home from Maine!
