Although I anticipate the temperatures will get excruciatingly high again before the end of the month (both Summer and Winter are well-known to never leave New England quietly!)– the brief reprieve from the heat and the humidity, along with much-needed rain throughout the Northeast has been a pleasant way to welcome in the month of September.
And as much as I would love to put away my Summer clothes for the season and start unpacking my sweaters and beanie hats- I’m holding off for a couple more weeks until I know for sure that cooler, crisper weather is here to stay for the long run. In the meantime, I keep a couple of “transitional pieces” in my closet for those in-between-seasons days- like the day I had at a local farm/orchard last week.
This black and white striped, long-sleeved and loose-fitting tunic can be styled a variety of ways- over a swimsuit, with shorts or tucked into high-waist pants- but I opted to let it hang over a baggy pair of jeans I threw on with some sneakers for maximum comfort while I was picking apples, grabbing some cider and walking through a sunflower field.

Even though the temperatures had dipped a little at the time, I was still cool and covered. I didn’t need to roll my sleeves up or grab any additional layers. It’s a perfect top!
I’m excited to share more Autumnal outfits in the coming weeks ahead. I’ve been picking up occasional tops, shoes and accessories that I’ve really been looking forward to wearing out and about, in photo shoots, etc. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
