How is Christmas only a few days away? I was so confident and self-assured at the beginning of the month, having all my gifts for family and friends planned and boxes/gift wrap/tags ready to go- and yet here I am scrambling to get things done in what feels like the final minutes before I’m set to make socially distanced drop-offs of presents and food on Christmas Eve.
Although last minute freak-outs and fumbling seem to be a holiday tradition (that runs in my family, I think) I did make some progress this year by sending out things that had to go cross-country early enough to guarantee their arrival before Christmas Day- so I’m quite pleased with myself for being able to pull that one off- especially with a brutal Nor’easter arriving earlier this week!
And of course, there’s also making some quiet, low-key plans for New Year’s Eve and wrapping up all things 2020-related here on “Coffee & Chiffon.”
This post was to express my exasperation, of course- but also to announce I’m going to be on a short posting schedule over the next two weeks (Monday and Wednesdays only- and then returning to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after the New Year) in order to have some downtime to relax and enjoy the holidays, but next week I’m cooking up one of my favorite seasonal indulgences- perfect for those looking to get some final carbs in before 2021- and a few of my favorite odds and ends from December.
And the week after that, leading up to NYE- I’m going to be looking back at some of my favorite photos I snapped throughout 2020 (when I dared to venture outside of my apartment, of course)– before I close out the year with an extensive look back/review of these past twelve crazy, unprecedented months.
It’s going to be busy over the next few days for sure, but I’m determined to see it through without losing my cool and composure!
xo
I love this month
