A Few of My Favorite Things: January 2026

With snow cleanup still underway and my putting together my calendar for February (already?!) I wanted to take some time this morning to talk about some of my favorite gifts, purchases, and odds & ends that I’ve been loving and using/wearing daily throughout this past month before I begin work for the day. That’s right, everybody – it’s time for the first official “Favorite Things” installment of 2026!

For anyone who may be new to ‘Coffee & Chiffon‘ – first, welcome! – I like to do two different “round-up” style posts at the end of each month. The first, this post, is a compilation of, you guessed it – my favorite things from the previous weeks. The second is a look back on the month in its entirety, but that post is scheduled for a little later on this week before we close out January once and for all.

As is tradition with these monthly “Favorite Things” posts, I’ll be sharing the items/objects I could snap photos of before I dive into any miscellaneous things that I couldn’t quite capture with my camera but still loved nonetheless. It’s pretty simple, and I love doing it each and every month!

So without any further delay, let’s get right into it!

First things first, I couldn’t very well kick off a New Year without a new planner to keep me organized and grounded, now could I? As always, I turn to Eccolo when selecting one for 2026 as I truly believe they have some of the prettiest, easiest to fill in, and most durable planners and journals around. I carry this one with me everywhere and it doesn’t bend or crease, and the pages stay firmly in place!

This year’s design, floral with hummingbirds, also has touches of pretty mint coloring on the inside – and also has sections for me to track habits, goals, and things I’m grateful for each and every week. I’ve been able to stay on top of deadlines, appointments, get-togethers and special events – and I’ve only been using it for a few weeks now!

I love a good statement piece, especially in the form of a cute bracelet or necklace, and especially when one is seasonally appropriate – so this snowflake bangle bracelet, which first made an appearance here on the blog earlier this month, has been on my wrist pretty much daily since it was gifted to me during the holidays by family.

I tend to lean towards gold jewelry, and I love the little pearl accents that go around this one. I wear this very often at work, when out with friends, and to both formal and casual events alike – and I always get compliments on it! It’s perfect for the season!

When I was in Salem this past weekend, I had mentioned that I’d been given a detailed and what I found to be a comforting tarot reading while visiting The Cauldron Black on Wharf Street. While there, I spotted this pasta-themed Tarot deck, and almost immediately bought it.

Although it’s been a very long time since I’ve done any kind of tarot readings myself (we all went through a phase in high school!) these cards are brilliant – beautifully drawn and very clever – and I’ve found myself re-learning how to do it the more I’ve been looking through these and shuffling them at my desk in-between answering e-mails at work and watching the snow fall from the comfort of my home office!

And finally – my boyfriend, Troy, knows me so well – which makes him one of the most thoughtful gift-givers around the holidays and my birthday. While performing our belated-Christmas gift exchange at the end of last December as we were getting ready to embark on our New Year’s Weekend plans, he gave me this black, cropped, faux-fur coat he had thrifted in Las Vegas – and I am obsessed.

This lined coat is so warm, so soft, and looks so cute with pretty much everything. I’ve been wearing it non-stop and have told pretty much everyone that it’s helping me enter my “Mob Wife Era”. It’s one of my favorite gifts I’ve ever received!

Now, while that may do it for my photogenic favorites – a something else made the list this month – and it deserve some recognition, too!

– MOVIES/MUSIC/GAMES –

‘His & Hers’ – You know what gets me through a snowed-in day other than substantial amounts of hot chocolate? A good “whodunnit?” crime drama. This Netflix mini-series, which premiered earlier this month and stars one of my favorite modern actors – Jon Bernthal (who is appearing on Broadway this Spring and I’m seriously thinking about checking it out!) has so many unexpected twists and turns throughout it that kept me on my toes until the very, VERY shocking ending.

Even if you’re not snowed in – it’s definitely worth checking out!

And that just about does it for this month’s installment – a small but sweet collection to get this year started properly!

I’ll be back this coming Friday with my fondest farewell to January before we break for the weekend, but what a month it’s been so far.

See you then!
