This past weekend, I found myself running some errands and making plans in and around Rhode Island in preparation for Thanksgiving and the upcoming Christmas season. One of those errands was stopping by one of the prettiest and most expansive garden centers/farm stands in South Kingstown – The Farmer’s Daughter – who just converted their greenhouses into a series of Christmas shopping displays filled with ornaments, trees, stockings, light fixtures and so much more for sale!
The Farmer’s Daughter has been owned and family-operated since 1998, having grown substantially over the years and gaining popularity with their beautiful and elaborate displays throughout the seasons – particularly in the Fall and during the holidays. While I didn’t get a chance to catch this year’s pumpkin set-up in person (but what I saw on social media looked gorgeous!) I knew I didn’t want to miss the beginning of their Christmas offerings.
I picked out quite a few ornaments for my tree and décor for my apartment, as well as some traditional pieces to gift my mom – but I was quite smitten with their mermaid and sailor-themed ornaments this time around, as well as some very sparkly and unique disco ball displays they had around the grounds. Everything was so beautiful and well-made!
The Farmer’s Daughter is both kid and dog-friendly, provides a perfect backdrop for photo opportunities, and they offer a variety of classes like wreath-making and floral arrangement tutorials you can sign up for through their website. They also have a cut-your-own Christmas Tree section that will be opening a little later on this month and through December for those who are looking for the perfect real tree to set up in your home this season.
I highly recommend following them on social media for all the updates for all of their events – especially since this past weekend served as their “Holiday First Look”. It turns out that I got there at the perfect time!
I’m definitely going to be heading back in a couple of weeks to pick up some more things, and I can’t wait! It’s so cute there!
