I can’t believe we’re already in the last days of October and that this coming weekend will begin what is typically the gradual transition from all things spooky and scary into the more festive and whimsical holiday season. It all goes by so quickly when you’re having fun! While I intend to keep my Halloween and Fall-inspired décor up for just a few extra days, I know that in a matter of time, more than likely just before Thanksgiving, I’ll be getting my Christmas tree and wreaths ready to display!
But before I get too far ahead of myself, and before I take a look back on the month of October as a whole this coming Friday, I wanted to pause for a moment and talk about some of my favorite finds, buys, and gifts from these past few weeks in a new installment of my monthly “Favorite Things”.
As always, I’ll be kicking off this post with the items I could snap photos of before I launch into some miscellaneous odds and ends. So, with all that being said, let’s take a look!

Earlier this month, while doing some cleaning and downsizing, I threw out my longtime pair of fuzzy slide slippers – which had been a source of comfort for the days, weeks and months I worked from home during the pandemic. They had taken a beating around my apartment, and needed to be replaced with something equally soft and snuggly for the colder months.
So when I saw this pair of pumpkin spice latte slippers from Feetmoji, I just about lost my mind from the cuteness overload. These slippers, although huge, are super cozy and plush – and never fail to make me smile when I glance down from my desk and see them. They keep my feet warm, but not in excess, so I’m always comfy. This was one of my favorite impulse buys – and they were under $15!

While I have an abundance of Christmas pajamas to get me through the next couple of months, I realized that I don’t have much for “Spooky Season” sleepwear and had hoped to change that while out picking up some stuff for my Halloween costume a couple of weeks ago. By chance, I came across this two-piece pajama set – featuring cowgirl-style pin-ups and Western-inspired symbols printed all over the front and back – and scooped them up with no hesitation.
These pajamas are silky, stretchy, and have quickly become my favorite set to sleep in this time of year. They’re perfect, and exactly what I was looking for!

In last month’s round-up of my Favorite Things, I had shared some gifts that my boyfriend Troy had given me during a recent trip to Las Vegas together. One of the gifts I knew I wanted to share for October was this plush skeleton he’d surprised me with when he decorated for the Fall since he knows how much I love the season and everything Halloween.
The skeleton, named Bartholomew on a whim, has since found a home on my nightstand next to my disco pumpkin and harvest-inspired candles. I’m thinking I might even keep him up year-round instead of packing him up later on this season!

Finally, another gift from Troy I was excited to share! He had picked up some costume jewelry for me at a local Farmer’s Market near his apartment to mix and match with my Fall ensembles (and just for fun since I had to get my ears re-pierced!) including these sparkly earrings in some of my favorite shades of blue.
The boot ones are my favorite, I think!
And although that just about completes the favorites I could capture some pictures of, a couple of other things made the list this month.
– MUSIC/MOVIES/TELEVISION –
‘Good Boy’ – I was admittedly very anxious going into a horror movie about a dog given that there was a good chance I was going to walk out of the movie completely broken and shattered. I love all dogs, I have a dog I love like a son, and I didn’t want to see anything – even if I knew it wasn’t real – where anything bad happened to one.
Thankfully, ‘Good Boy’ was devastating in a completely different way, but it was also a great mix of scary and compelling – and the main, four-legged actor was so expressive and adorable. I was pleasantly surprised with this one, and looking at photos of all the dogs on the red carpet at the premiere just made me feel so much better after I watched it!
‘Welcome To Derry’ – We’re only one episode into this limited series and the ending of the premiere had me staring at my screen in disbelief. I love a horror movie/series where no one is safe and the unexpected can happen at any time (except when it comes to dogs, obviously.) I also love Pennywise The Clown and Bill Skarsgård’s portrayal of him/it, so I’m excited to see where this one goes since the first episode was intense!
– GAMES/APPS –
‘Silent Hill f’ – Getting a new ‘Silent Hill’ game so close to Halloween was a real treat, and this new installment in the franchise is one that I’ve been working my way through with my friends when we have the time. The story is bizarre for sure, but fascinating – and there’s no shortage of scares and moments that have made me jump so far! I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the game plays out.

And that concludes this month’s installment of “Favorite Things!” Plenty of cute things, lots of spooky stuff – which sounds about right for a normal October in my life!
A little later on this week, I’ll be giving this month the tribute it deserves – so stay tuned!
