As I’m writing this, it’s raining outside and the temperatures have finally dipped below the high 70s. The forecast this week says this is likely to continue into next week – maybe even longer – and I’m SO excited because it feels like the weather is finally starting to align with the changing leaves I can see from my windows! It’s been a bit disorienting to walk through sidewalks filled with crunchy orange and red leaves while wearing shorts and sandals in recent weeks.
I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself here, and I certainly don’t want to jinx it, but I think Fall has officially arrived here in New England! I think we can all safely put our hoodies and cardigans on now!
I had talked about visiting Newport, Rhode Island this past weekend in an attempt to manifest Autumn with some shopping at Bowen’s Wharf, but what I didn’t discuss much at the time was just how beautifully decorated so many of the historic homes and inns near places like Thames Street and Bellevue Avenue were!
As hot out as it was at the time, I caught myself wandering for a couple of hours and just marveling at the doorstep and window decorations before I’d eventually grabbed some clam chowder and freshly shucked oysters and caught up on a little NFL action at Benjamin’s Raw Bar. Such a great way to spend a Sunday!
I’m heading to New York City this coming weekend for a day trip (and a stop by a potentially haunted location!) after I share another seasonal appetizer recipe here on Friday morning, and I can’t wait!
See you all soon!
