OOTD: Pumpkins On The Prairie

Before we start winding down the month of September (already?!) and start gearing up for Spooky Season and all of the locations, recipes and events I’ll be sharing throughout it – I wanted to take a moment to highlight one of my favorite maxi dresses to wear this time of year because the colors look absolutely gorgeous when surrounded by all of the reds, oranges and golds that truly begin to shine in these early Autumn days!

I’ve had this ruffle-covered prairie style-dress for a while now, having purchased it from T.P. Saddleblanket in Great Barrington at the urging of my lovely friend Dan’s equally lovely parents. They had spotted it on a mannequin while we were window shopping after grabbing lunch together, and urged me to try it on since they thought it would look spectacular on me – and they weren’t wrong!

From there, the urging went from me trying it on to me actually purchasing it. I did so, because I believe in destiny and this was a dress that I seemed destined to come across – and it quickly became one of my favorite Autumnal dresses to wear when the weather starts to cool down!

This dress is flowy, breathable, and oh-so-comfortable – and gives me a reason to wear either my cowboy boots or my suede ankle boots to give me a little lift and keep it from dragging on the ground.

I had worn this out while grabbing dinner with Dan last week, and once we’d spotted a lovely pumpkin and string light display in Deerfield on our way back to our building – we stopped to take some quick photos – just before it got to the point where I needed to grab a cardigan to wear over it.

I’m looking forward to getting a few more wears out of this one throughout the beginning of October before it’s time to get into the witchier additions to my wardrobe!
