The title of today’s post may be a tad inaccurate since I’m actually in a pretty good mood! I’m surviving the current heatwave extraordinarily well, it’s Friday, and I’m spending a good portion of my upcoming weekend with friends! How could anyone feel crabby on a morning like this?
What I’m referring to, of course, are some of the accessories I’m highlighting in this latest installment of my ‘OOTD’ series. Some of you may remember my sharing this adorable (and sparkly!) crab hair clip and my new tomato red Kate Spade bag in my “Favorite Things” summary from June – but I wanted to show them in action since they were on full display during a recent day trip to Ashfield Lake that Dan and I had taken before we’d stopped to grab some oysters at Farm Table in Bernardston!
The hair clip (and the mini one I usually pin somewhere on me just for fun!) is definitely more for casual occasions, and I love wearing it on days where I’m chilling in things like this red and white striped tank top, my linen shorts, and my Sperry boating shoes – although it really pops when I’m wearing Navy Blue or Periwinkle, too. Basically this one goes great with anything in the “Nantucket Color Palette” that is so popular around the Northeast this time of year.
This one is a hit when people catch a glimpse of it since it really is super cute – but it also does a fantastic job at holding my hair in place – which is really what matters when it’s as hot and humid as it has been throughout this month and I just want to keep my curls away from my face or the back of my neck.
I’m going to be so sad when it comes time to pack this one away at the end of the Summer until next year. It really has been one of my favorite purchases and accessories I’ve been able to show off this season. I’m hoping I can find one that’s just as adorable and eye-catching for the Fall to hold me over!
