With April underway, and myself now in the midst of going through my cosmetics collection to determine what needs to be replenished, replaced, or swapped out for different products that are more skin/complexion friendly for me during the warmer months – I thought now would be a good time to share a couple of newer additions to my Springtime makeup regimen that I’ve been wearing at work, out with friends, while I’m running errands, etc.
While I’m still using the Clinique shadows I highlighted in my Winter makeup roundup a few months ago, I’ve been leaning towards more soft and pink shades for my cheeks and lips this time of year to give myself a natural-looking flush of color that is only further complimented by the amount of pastels and florals I wear throughout the Spring!
I’ll have swatches of the two main products I’m sharing today closer to the end of the post, as well as links for more information in case you want to order any of these items for yourself of a loved one – and I’m also including links to previous collections from over the years I’ve shared here on ‘Coffee & Chiffon‘ in case anyone wants to do a deep dive!

Let’s get started!

Every long-lasting face of makeup has to begin with a good primer, and what I’ve come to appreciate over the years of trying many different brands and many different products is that there are plenty of drug store cosmetics brands that give as good, if not better results than high end, “luxury” cosmetics companies for a fraction of the cost. You don’t have to break the bank or bend your budget to have quality makeup – remember that!
For example, I’ve been loving this new, glue-inspired primer from NYX lately – and not just because the bottle reminds me of art class in middle school. This one is lightweight, not super sticky, but also hydrating – and keeps my tinted moisturizer and blush/bronzer in place all day regardless of the climate, my activity levels, etc.
Best of all? It’s $9. You can’t beat that!

When I say a product will last me several lifetimes, I’m talking about this one. The pigmentation on this Rare Beauty liquid blush is insane. Anything more than just the tiniest drop (and I mean the tiniest!) in the desired area of your face is a waste – since this one provides so much long-lasting coverage for such little product. I’ve had this full-sized bottle since the beginning of March, and even after using it daily on my cheekbones and my nose, I haven’t made a dent. The bottle is still full!
This one is the shade “Happy” – a pure pink with a subtle, dewy finish. It gives me a natural flushed look, but without giving me the appearance of having a bad sunburn, which I always appreciate since it’s a fine line to walk. With my fair skin and blue eyes – this one is definitely a winner in complimentary shades – especially in the Springtime when I’m introducing more colors into my wardrobe and accessories!

Finally, I have to thank my co-worker for hooking me up with this Revolution Beauty lipstick since she knew it would look good with my complexion. This sheer, glittery formula in the shade “Baby Pink”- a very pretty pink/coral hue – glides on smooth and has buildable coverage, so it doesn’t overpower my face after one swipe.
The finish is creamy and hydrating, and the sparkles are definitely noticeable at certain angles and particularly in the sunlight, so I’ve been having a lot of fun wearing this one throughout the season when I’m spending time outdoors.
It’s also another another bargain – costing only $4!

As promised, I’ve got a couple of swatches of the products above (sans-primer, which goes on/dries clear!) so you can see the finish and pigmentation levels for yourselves!

As always, if you’d like to share your Spring makeup finds, buys and favorites – or if you have any recommendations on what I should look into including when I put together my Summer collection in a few months, feel free to reach out or drop me a line! I love trying new things!
In a couple of days, I’m going to be sharing some of the spectacular spots I visited in New Hampshire and Connecticut this past weekend as I celebrated friends’ birthdays and stocked up on some greenery for my apartment!
See you all then!
