Although quite a few of my Valentines Days over recent years have been what some would consider a little unconventional (having been in a relationship since 2019 that then went long distance in 2020) I will always appreciate and look forward to a holiday that lets me celebrate love, chocolate, and the color red. Sure, my boyfriend and I might have to enjoy our dinner or date night over a video call until we can reunite in person again – but that doesn’t mean I can’t dress for the occasion or treat myself to some sweets in advance. It’s the little things, after all!
So last week, while out shopping for some Galentine’s Day gifts for my mom and some of my girlfriends at a local chocolate café with Dan (that I’ll be writing about within the next few days!) I decided to lean into some seasonally-inspired reds a little early in preparation for this Friday’s celebration of all things love and romance. Despite the chill in the air, I sported this sleeveless and vibrant red pleated halter top for an afternoon out in both Williamsburg and Easthampton. I’ve owned this one for a few years now, and am a big fan of the way the fabric swirls around me when I move. It makes for a beautiful silhouette.
It’s a great top for dressy occasions, or work depending on what I’ve got going on at the office – and I’ve worn it to both of those things many times – but for this day out, I kept it casual with some flared jeans, red pumps, and a swipe of bright red Chanel lipstick for good measure.

I was fortunate enough that the chocolate café had the most gorgeously decorated backdrop for photos while I was there!
I’m hoping to have some more “Date Night” looks to share in the future when Troy and I are able to reunite again either here in Massachusetts or out in Nevada – although we’ve been planning a possible trip within the next few months where the photos are going to look stunning if we can pull it off!
