At the time of this post being published, I’ll be just starting off on a very long drive (via the scenic route and with plenty of stops!) to Maryland for an extended weekend spent with friends/family and catching the Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City. I’m so excited to reunite with Andrew and the kids for the first time in what feels like forever, and to catch sets from The Killers, Young The Giant, and The Hives – who I actually just saw a couple of nights ago in Boston (and it was phenomenal as always!)
But we’re getting ready to wind down the month of September, which means that before I share a full-recap and reflection on this past month early next week and before we officially get into October, I want to take a moment to talk about some of my favorite things I found/bought throughout this most Autumnal of times, first!
And as is tradition with these monthly posts, I’ll be sharing the items I could snap photos of first before I get into miscellaneous things like music and movies.
So let’s take a look, shall we? There’s a bunch of fun (and seasonal!) stuff!

First on the list is this delicious-smelling (and tasting!) lip scrub and balm set from NCLA Beauty that I picked up earlier this month. My lips tend to get a little drier this time of year with the change in weather and drop in temperatures, so I keep these sets in my purse and/or my gym bag all the time throughout the Fall and Winter. NCLA has had great and sometimes limited edition flavors of these duos in the past, but this Pecan Waffles one is by far one of their best and one of my all-time favorites!
And I love the little silicone scrubbing brush that comes with this one since it buffs away dead skin to allow the scrub and the balm to work their magic. My lips have been looking and feeling amazing throughout September!

September and the beginning of the Fall season means it was time for me to swap out my Summertime handbag for something a little more seasonally-appropriate in terms of colors and material, and I unexpectedly fell in love with this faux-suede crescent bag from 4th & Reckless that I’ve been carrying all of my essentials in throughout the month.
At first glance, it looks like the bag would have been too small to hold my wallet, phone (and charger!), travel makeup, hand cream, perfume, keys, and everything else I tend to cram into my purse on a regular basis – but it holds it all without being too heavy or looking too bulky. I was amazed at how much room is in this buttery soft number, and I’m going to cherish it all though the colder months for sure!

I’m a Trader Joe’s girly through and through, so when they dropped their Autumnal collection of snacks, beverages and body care – I made sure to stock up for the season. Two of my favorites so far have been these pumpkin-scented body scrubs and butters, which have been saving my skin as I transition into sweater and boots weather.
The scents in both of these products aren’t overwhelming at all, and they have left rougher areas like my knees and elbows particularly soft and smooth. I’m going to grab a few more in the coming weeks before the season starts to wind down and TJ’s makes room on their shelves for their holiday-themed stuff!

And finally, I have been obsessed with this ‘Spiced Woods’ candle from DEHV Candle Company since I was gifted one earlier this month. Made with soy and coconut wax, and with a 50+ hour burn time, this candle has made my bedroom smell heavenly throughout the month of September with notes of vanilla, saffron and cardamom. It’s the perfect candle/fragrance for a cozy, rainy day indoors. It’s so relaxing and so soothing!
This is another one I’m going to stock up on once the jar I have is empty!
That’s all for the “Favorite Things” that aren’t camera shy, but there’s still something else on this month’s list, too!
– MOVIES/MUSIC/TELEVISION –
‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ – I love Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and a shot of spooky nostalgia, and even though we’re not technically into the Halloween season just yet, I went to the theater opening weekend to catch this long-awaited sequel. While nothing can hold a candle to the original ‘Beetlejuice’, this one was still really fun and silly – and I highly recommend it for a Halloween 2024 watch!

And that just about does it for my September favorites! I’m more than excited to get into October (my favorite month!) and all the local haunts and hangs I have planned in the weeks ahead – and I’m looking forward to seeing what makes my next “Favorite Things” collection by Halloween!
Next week, I’ll have my aforementioned full recap of all things September 2024, a look at my weekend away in Maryland, and some makeup I’ve been loving this Fall season.
See you all soon!
