Before we start grilling up hot dogs and setting off fireworks we purchased over state lines in New Hampshire, and before I head to the airport later on this afternoon to pick up Troy (who is visiting for tomorrow’s holiday!) I thought it’d be fun to share some photos of a somewhat patriotic outfit I recently put together when Dan and I headed over to Whately, Massachusetts for a classic car show and some ice cream at Tom’s to usher in the beginning of the month properly!
This short and puffy-sleeved, red and white striped knitted striped top from Draper James was actually an impulse Winter purchase since it has a little bit of weight to it and is nice to have on cooler days/evenings, but given that the Fourth of July was right around the corner – it felt right to wear it with my favorite pair of distressed blue denim shorts, my go-to Sperry slip-ons, and these oversized red heart sunglasses that I’m always looking for an opportunity to put on.
And I had just gotten my hair touched up earlier in the afternoon, so I wasn’t about to let the humidity stop me from wearing it down! A little puffiness never scared me too much.

We had such a great time, and the turnout for the car show was incredible. There were so many unique, vintage vehicles to look at – but my favorite had to be an army green 1949 Ford pickup truck that was in mint condition. Shout-out to the owner for letting me climb inside it for a picture. If only I could take it for a spin one of these days!
I hope those of you celebrating tomorrow all have a fun, relaxing, and most importantly – safe! – Fourth of July holiday! I’ll be back next week with a recap and some photos from my weekend!
