The weather in my little corner of Massachusetts has been amazing these past few weeks, with high temperatures and bright, sunny days- and even when the forecast calls for rain or thunderstorms- they are either over in the blink of an eye or end up missing us entirely. It’s been pretty incredible and a highly celebrated thing, especially since last Summer saw a lot of rainy weekends!
With another partly cloudy day upon us last Friday, a half day for me at my full-time job, my dear friend Dan and I met up in Northampton for a dock-side catch-up all the happenings in our life since Memorial Day Weekend and to grab a lobster roll and some BBQ at one of our nearby (and favorite!) food trucks.
For the occasion, and as I lean into my “Coastal Granddaughter” era for the month of June (I haven’t gone to the Cape often enough to earn the title of “Coastal Grandmother” yet), I wore this absolutely adorable powder blue romper with white and black polka dots, a tied waist, blink-and-you’ll-miss-them buttons down the front, and scallop-cut neckline. It’s super comfortable, lightweight – which is ideal given how hot it gets! – and the cinched waist flatters my figure. I love it.
And of course – it has pockets! Would you expect anything else from me?

And after my last pair of Sperry boating shoes were destroyed during an impromptu hike up a mountain in California a couple of years ago, I finally committed to buying a new, white and tan pair for this Summer because they really are some of the comfiest and cutest shoes ever made- and they match 90% of my wardrobe this time of year which makes finding something to wear on my feet at any given time infinitely easier!
I have more tropical and “beachy” outfits to share as the season continues, but for now I’m having a great time sporting all sorts of nautical, New England-esque style when I’m out and about- especially since I’m traveling to Rhode Island and Maine again in a couple of weeks for another little coastal getaway!
