Lavender Lemonade…

I had received a notification in May that an absolutely beautiful and picturesque farm in Connecticut (that I’d seen all over social media last Spring!) was opening it’s doors for the season once again. Since I’d missed the window to visit in 2023, I set a reminder to stop by at some point this year so I could experience it firsthand, snap all the photos, and try some of their famous and fresh lavender lemonade- and it did not disappoint!

Lavender Pond Farm, located in Killingworth, Connecticut, is a 25-acre farm filled with vast fields of lavender (of course!), a beautiful fresh water pond, walking trail, gift shop and a purple-colored trolley to take visitors around the grounds multiple times per day. The owner of the farm, Denise, cites her mother’s battle with breast cancer and her passing in 2011 as the motivation behind their opening in 2014 to honor her memory while creating a beautiful and unique experience for visitors.

And beautiful it most certainly is! While it was noted the Lavender fields typically reach their peak in late June and into July, there were plenty of pops of purples and blues when I arrived- and the trolley (thankfully parked in the shade!) was one of the cutest additions to a farm I’d ever seen. Pictures don’t even do it justice!

The gift shop is filled with Lavender-infused gifts- like body scrubs, lotions, closet and drawer satchels, and even food- like chocolate bars and tea. I picked up a couple of things for my mother, including her own lavender plant to put in her garden for the season- and stocked up on the lavender lemonade. It’s so delicious and so refreshing.

My trip to Killingworth comes as part of an exploration of the coastal towns in Connecticut that I had started doing last year. On my way to and from Lavender Pond Farm, I passed through really beautiful communities in Chester and Old Saybrook- and I’m looking forward to revisiting the area so I can stop by some of the pretty and scenic downtown areas and shops I saw along the way!

Next week, I’m sharing some nautical-inspired pieces from my wardrobe, a new spin on a classic Summer dessert recipe, and a local boutique that has been helping me keep my inner cowgirl alive and well- and that’s after I head to New York this weekend with friends! So many pictures are coming soon!

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
