I have a confession, everyone. It’s nothing salacious, and I know for a fact I’m not the only one thinking/feeling this way, but I am so ready for Summer. Maybe it’s because I’ll be kicking off music festival season in a couple of weeks with the arrival of Boston Calling, or maybe it’s because Troy and I have a Memorial Day Weekend getaway planned to New Hampshire and Maine right after that (and we all know Memorial Day is the unofficial beginning of Summer anyway!) but I’m anxiously counting down to beach days, lobster rolls, and being able to wear some of the new pieces that have been hanging in my closet since Spring started!
This past weekend, with temperatures and humidity soaring, I got started a little early with showcasing my more Summertime-inspired wardrobe by wearing this super comfy and flattering mini dress from 41 Hawthorn, which features scallop detailing and bright green fern leaves printed all over it from front to back.
And you bet it has pockets!
While I don’t think this is necessarily a dress I’d wear to a music festival any time soon (it has a lining but no built in shorts or anything- so wearing it in a crowd may not be ideal!) I will absolutely be wearing this one out and about in the coming weeks as my friends/family and I begin transitioning into more cookouts, backyard BBQs, pool parties, or day trips to the Cape and Coastal New England.

But this one got plenty of wear- and quite a few compliments from people we encountered!- while Dan and I were hanging out in Northampton, so I think it’s a keeper for 2024! I paired it with some strappy, mustard yellow thong sandals from Franco Sarto– which are super comfortable and are replacing my old slides I wore for the past couple of years since they were starting to fall apart.
But this dress is so casual that it could be paired with some white sneakers, as well, and still look adorable! I’m thinking that’s how I’ll style it the next time I have it on!
