With February coming to an end soon, albeit a somewhat extended one since it’s a leap year this year, and plans for March starting to swirl around both inside my head and on my schedule – I wanted to take some time to share some of the gifts, purchases and odds and ends that have made this past month of romance and all things red and pink just a little more festive and fun!
Troy has been staying with me through the month, so a big part of my preparations for his arrival involved decorating my apartment with as much sickeningly cute Valentine’s Day décor I could find – but I ended up loving a lot of it more than I originally anticipated – so you’ll see a bit of it in today’s post (actually, Troy was kind enough to help me set up some of the photos of said décor for this one – so I think he liked the purchases, too!)
As always, the things I could snap some photos of will be shared first before I get into the little miscellaneous documentaries/movies and shows I got super into this month – so let’s just get right into it!

Part of the inside joke whenever Troy stays with me is that he has to push his way through a series of decorative pillows to find a space for himself in the bed or on my couch depending on the season/holiday that’s happening during his visit. In the Fall, he’s surrounded by plush pumpkins. In the Winter, it’s stuffed snowmen and snowflakes – so I think he really thought he was going to be in the clear this month when he arrived.
But NOPE. I found these gigantic, velvet, lip-shaped pillows on Amazon and cackled to myself as I added them into my cart. What I wasn’t expecting, however – was that they’re super soft and actually really comfortable to lay on, and cradle your shoulders and back almost perfectly – which has made our late night TV binge-watching so much better.
And they come in a variety of shades so regardless of the color scheme in your space – you can find one that matches!

I can always count on Target to have plenty of cute, decorative knick-knacks for my shelves and windowsills. I’ve seen these Valentine’s Day-themed glass “Potion Bottles” being used across social media to hold flowers, glittery gels/liquids or multi-colored sand – but I’ve left mine empty and propped up on my windowsills since they catch the sunlight beautifully in the mornings and as the sun begins to set in the late afternoons/evenings.
These were $5 each when I bought them at the beginning of the month, and although Target has already started putting out their Easter stuff (!?!?) you may still be able to find them in the clearance areas in-store or online if you look hard enough!

Troy knows I love perfume, and that on occasion, my tastes can be a little expensive – but that hasn’t stopped him from spoiling me throughout the years. He’s incredibly generous and loves to surprise me from time to time, so when he presented me with bottles of two of my favorite perfumes from CHANEL shortly after his flight landed at the end of last month – I nearly melted into the floor.
The Coco Mademoiselle was especially poignant, since the last time I had been gifted a bottle of it was from my father the Christmas before he passed away. I tried to save it for as long as possible but eventually ran out and was, unsurprisingly, devastated. Opening a brand new one absolutely filled me with joy and I may have cried a little – but in a good way!
I know what I’ll be wearing throughout the Spring!

And finally, it’s that time of year where everyone is getting sick. I hear non-stop coughing at the grocery store, sneezing at my local café and throat clearing as I pass by people during my nightly walks. It’s put me on high alert – especially since I’m sharing my apartment with another person right now and would hate if I passed any germs along to them.
I’ve always carried some form of hand sanitizer with me, usually the gel ones that you can rub in quickly after using things like gas pumps or ATMs – but a friend recently turned me onto the spray versions from Touchland that provide thorough antibacterial care and hydration without leaving behind any stickiness or residue.
The bottles are pretty big, and you can build bundles of a vast array of fragrances. I’ve been obsessed with this watermelon one this past month – but they have fragrance-free options for those with scent sensitivity, too! I’m definitely going to be stocking up as we head into allergy season!
And while that does it for my photogenic find this month, a couple more things made the list this time around!
– MOVIES/MUSIC/TELEVISION –
‘Lover. Stalker. Killer.’ – While scrolling through the list of new releases on Netflix earlier this month, Troy and I stopped to watch the trailer for this true crime documentary about online dating gone wrong. While we weren’t fully on board, we decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad we did – because by the end of it we were audibly gasping and looking at each other in disbelief at all the unexpected twists and turns this true story took as it unfolded.
This one is WILD, and I highly recommend it if you aren’t actively online dating right now. Otherwise, it may completely scare you away from it.
‘The Ones Who Live’ – I know we’re only one episode into the highly anticipated, long-awaited Rick Grimes and Michonne spinoff from ‘The Walking Dead’ but it’s already pretty much perfect. I have been dying to have Andrew Lincoln back on my screen and he still delivers such an intense performance after being away from the franchise for so long. I’m so looking forward to seeing where this one goes over the next few episodes! I need the power couple back together and some closure to their story!

And there we have it, folks! Another installment of Favorites as we wind down the month. I’ll have a full recap of this past month in its entirety a little later on this week – as well as a look back on an exciting weekend in the Berkshires I got to have!
See you all again soon!
