A Case of The (Birthday) Mondays…

When I told my friends and family that I was going to be at my office on my birthday (today!) nearly all of them said that I was crazy, and that I should have taken the day off to celebrate- or at the very least relax and sleep in for a change. But, there’s really not much to do here in the Pioneer Valley on Mondays. Nearly all of the restaurants and shops I like are closed, everyone else is at work, and I would have to be back to my own job first thing on Tuesday morning anyway. I mean really, how much partying could I actually do?

It made more sense to just go to work today, get through it, and then try to plan something for the upcoming weekend ahead- but my loved ones had other ideas in mind and made sure this past weekend was jam-packed with celebrations so that I would be feeling the abundance of love for the days and weeks to come!

On Saturday, my mom asked me to grab some hot chocolate with her and go shopping at a couple of our favorite stores where she treated me to some new clothes and skincare she saw me eyeing as we went from shop to shop. Before I could protest, she told me it was time to get lunch- and we headed through the backroads to The Old Mill in Westminster- which has been a longtime favorite spot for all sorts of celebrations I’ve attended. I’ve definitely blogged about it many, many times over the past few years!

The food was, as always, incredible- and much to our amusement- it started snowing while we were there! It’s a bit of an inside joke and a tradition that my birthday gets snow every single year, and we were cracking up that I couldn’t escape it yet again.

And then yesterday (Sunday,) Sean, Chris and Paulo had a special surprise for me in Boston. After making an early morning drive into the city, the guys brought me to the rooftop igloos at The Envoy in Seaport for a two hour brunch complete with warm cocktails, good music, a breakfast charcuterie that was loaded with waffles, French Toast, hard boiled eggs and bacon- and a really fantastic view of the city! Each igloo is sealed tightly and is heated from within, so despite the single digit temperatures outside- we were so cozy and toasty during the entirety of our stay!

I’d wanted to check out the igloos for a while now, so I was so excited and grateful the guys had made it possible! They’re always booked up whenever I’ve considered making a reservation!

Overall, it was such a great weekend and I’m so thankful for everyone who went above and beyond to celebrate me and my most recent journey around the sun.

I’m also so thankful to everyone who has already reached out today to say Happy Birthday. All the warm wishes, good thoughts, and humorous takes about my getting just a little bit older are so deeply appreciated and have made me feel so touched and indescribably happy. I might be working today, sure- but it feels like one of the best days ever thanks to so many of you!

Here’s to another year stronger, wiser, and being so truly blessed!
