Sure, the Patriots are out following an embarrassingly bad season, and yes- Coach Bill Belichick only just yesterday announced he’s leaving his longtime position here in New England- but that doesn’t mean I can’t smile through the pain and still enjoy the last few weeks of the 2023/2024 NFL season as we get closer and closer to the Super Bowl.
And it certainly doesn’t mean I still can’t partake in some “Game Day” appropriate snacks while doing so!
I love anything with salt and vinegar when it comes to appetizers, so when I saw this recipe for wings (one of my favorite things to mindlessly reach for when I’m watching games at home or at a party!) I got out the air fryer and got to work to make a batch of my own.
This one is super quick, very easy, and only requires a handful of ingredients to get the perfect flavor!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
4 SERVINGS:
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- ½ cup white vinegar
- 6 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 2⅓ tablespoons dry ranch mix
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Start by adding all of the marinade ingredients (the white vinegar through the garlic powder noted above) to a small mixing bowl, mixing/combining well. Then, place your chicken wings into the bowl, allowing them to marinate for about 30 minutes to an hour in the refrigerator.
** You can even leave them overnight if you’re got time and you’re really looking to get the flavors in there! **
2. Place the marinated chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 380°F and cook for 12 minutes.
3. After 12 minutes, use tongs to flip the chicken wings. Increase the temperature on the fryer to 400°F and cook again for another 5-6 minutes.
4. Carefully remove the wings from the fryer, plate- serve with the dipping sauce of your choice – and enjoy!

These wings were crispy and full of flavor, and I prefer the kick of the vinegar and ranch seasoning mix used in the marinade over buffalo sauce any day (no offense, buffalo chicken wing enthusiasts! You know I love you!)
I’ll be making these again within a few weeks when it comes time for the actual Super Bowl, even though I don’t have a team to root for this year.
Go Chiefs, more than likely, I guess? We’ll see!
