Local Loves: Strawberry Hollow Farm

With just a few days left until Halloween and my only recently returning to the East Coast after an extended stay in Southern California, I had limited time to catch up on grabbing some pumpkins and new Halloween décor to get my apartment window displays ready to go before I head down to Maryland this coming weekend. Given that the foliage is still looking very pretty here in New England and I am still all about that apple cider and sweater life right now- I headed down to Guilford, Connecticut to visit one of the cutest, coziest little farm stands ever!

Some of you may remember my last trip to Guilford in the Summer where I visited Lobster Landing for the best lobster roll I’ve ever had in my life. As tempting as getting more seafood was (and will forever be,) this most recent trip was to the always picturesque Strawberry Hollow Farm, instead.

Open daily from Labor Day through Halloween (there’s still time to go!) this farm- with plenty of pumpkins!- and gift shop is filled with unique finds and locally sourced goods that makes for a must-visit spot when planning the perfect and quintessential Autumn day in the Northeast.

I picked out a bunch of beautiful orange and white pumpkins, in great condition and various sizes, as well as some spooky décor to set the mood for my neighbors while I’m out of town- but there’s also a lot of beautiful spots to take photos with friends/family (or a good selfie!) and gorgeous views of the foliage along the neighboring Enders Pond. It was nice seeing so many people enjoy it while I was visiting.

And if you take the back roads to get to/from the farm the way I did, you’re in for a treat. Connecticut is a seriously gorgeous state year-round, but especially in the Fall!

I’m looking forward to returning to Strawberry Hollow Farm next year, as well as sharing a lot more haunted locations when the season comes back around!
