I love you, September- I really, truly and sincerely do! You are the gateway from my beloved hot and hazy days of Summer to my absolute favorite crisp and brisk Autumn nights. You are the month when all things pumpkin, apple, cozy and comforting make their triumphant comeback and I’m always sad when it’s time to say goodbye to you- even though I’m beyond excited for October to begin!
This past month has been a whirlwind of Autumnal activities, travel and time with friends/family. I kicked off September with a road trip to Connecticut for what would end up being one of many cider mill visits this month- the most memorable, of course, being my day in Mystic with Stef. There’s no better way to celebrate the unofficial beginning of Fall than with some apple cider doughnuts!
I stopped by Hampton Beach’s annual Seafood Festival earlier this month, where I found some new threads for work and the weekend and ate plenty of lobster- and while New Hampshire is usually my last “Beach Day” destination in the final echoes of Summertime- I was actually surfside one more time when I headed down to New Jersey for an evening at the shore with Andrew and the kids for s music festival!
I paid my respects to one of my favorite local eateries that is closing up shop soon, and made sure to visit one more time for the best brunch ever- and that was all in-between sharing seasonal recipes, looks into my Fall-inspired wardrobe, and some of my favorite playlists for this time of year.
And now here we are, just a couple of short days away from October- where I’ll be spending a significant amount of time doing all things spooky and scary in Southern California for a few weeks. I’m looking forward to updating from the road, sharing new places and experiences along with more recipes and “Outfits of The Day” I’ve had ready to go (as well as my current Fall makeup routine, as is my October tradition!)
And I’ve got plenty of things planned for when I’m back on the East Coast, too- but for now- I’m ready to switch into Vacay-mode!
So here’s to September- another beautiful one for the books.
And to October being full of fun, good fortune, all treats and no tricks!
