OOTD: Neutral By Nature…

A peek into my late-Summer color palette as of late will reveal a few things, but the most obvious is that I’m in the midst of a neutral Renaissance within my closet. Maybe I’m teetering on the edge of my own “Sad Beige” era, but I simply cannot stop scooping up pieces and accessories in various shades of white/cream, khaki, tan, grays and both sage and olive greens.

This fitted, button up romper- an impulse purchase- by SOLY HUX has been one of my favorites this past Summer. It’s stretchy, super soft and comfortable, and can be dressed up or down with a good pair of wedge sandals or sneakers (depending on the occasion!)

I recently wore it out while I was having dinner and strolling through Shelburne Falls with my dear friend (and brilliant photographer- I always give credit!) Dan. Given that our hang was more informal and entailed some time out in the sun and uneven walking paths, I kept things simple with my usual pair of beige sandals and my brown, wide-brimmed hat to protect my face and scalp.

This romper comes with a fabric belt/tie, but I’ve found that it not only gets in the way of my regular movements and motions- but it also gives me kind of an unusual shape/silhouette- so I’ve been opting not to use it whenever I wear this. Less is more with this one!

I gotta’ say, the mossy backdrop Dan and I found while we were in Shelburne Falls really brought out this ensemble!

And these colors are great for the upcoming transition into the beginning of Fall- so I’m just considering myself prepared and one step ahead of the game!
