This coming weekend, Troy and I will be heading to New York to attend what I think is the last wedding of the 2023 Summer season. I’m excited, not only for the nuptials of two dear friends and having the chance to dress up one more time before I prepare to start packing up my warmer weather wardrobe as September approaches- but also because of the venue’s close proximity to Sleepy Hollow. Troy has already promised me we can do some exploring before it’s time to head back to Massachusetts.
I did encounter a slight hiccup, however- when the dress I ordered for the occasion arrived last week and wasn’t quite what I’d had in mind. Fearing that I might “pop out” of the top during the middle of the reception for lack of a better description, I headed out this past weekend to find a suitable alternative during out annual “Tax Free Weekend.”
My journey brought me over state lines to Keene, New Hampshire, which is one of my favorite places to shop and dine during the Spring and Summertime. Their Main Street and downtown area is absolutely adorable- and I can see why Hollywood chose to film the original ‘Jumanji’ there (the Parrish Shoes mural remains!)
I did find a beautiful maxi dress courtesy of Synergy (I’ll share photos soon!) and also stopped for breakfast, a latte and some local art browsing over at Brewbakers Café before I bought some fresh produce and handmade soap at a nearby Farmers Market.
Once I was closer to home, I met up with Dan for a walk through Shelburne Falls to catch up followed by a late dinner at Wells Provisions. I could have easily eaten three servings of their roasted Brussel sprouts. They are so, so good!
I’ll have more photos, specifically the incredible ones Dan took, up here on the blog later on this week. But for now- it’s back to work and getting ready for Troy’s arrival from California in a couple of days!
