With another month coming to an end and July right around the corner (including any and all things related to backyard BBQs and cookouts!) it’s about that time where I line up all of my favorite things from this month-that-was and snap some pretty photos so that I can share them here with all of you! And these types of posts of course, as they always do, serve as a prequel to the end-of-the-month recap I’ll have up and running at the end of the week.
And what a month June has been!
This month’s assortment of items are mostly health and beauty-related, and include an array of both purchases I’ve made and gifts I’ve received from places as close by as the Berkshires to as far away as Rome! There’s also some random odds and ends that made the cut, too- and I’ll be writing about those a little closer to the end of the post.
But without further delay, let’s get right into a few of my favorite things from June of 2023!

I have somehow, despite consistently slathering myself in sunscreen throughout this past month- developed the beginnings of what appears to be a tan. As a perpetually and consistently pale person, this is both shocking and confusing at times- but has also been kind of fun to safely maintain. Emphasis on the “safely” part. At a friend’s recommendation, I picked up this self-tanning mist from Isle of Paradise to both even out my tan lines and maintain my color without subjecting myself to harmful UV rays or painful burns.
Vegan and enriched with skin-loving ingredients, this lightweight and natural-looking tanning mist (meaning no orange or streaky finishes!) gives me a mess-free, long-lasting and evenly distributed sun-kissed glow that develops over the course of a couple of hours after application. There’s no weird scents, stickiness or bizarre ingredients- so I don’t feel gross using this product weekly!

If I could just circle back to the sunscreen thing real quick, I had to talk about this SPF30 from Vacation, Inc. Not only because it’s waterproof formula absorbs onto the skin quickly, is super effective and offers long-lasting protection to each and every area I apply it to- but because it smells amazing. Its fragrance is like something right out of my childhood Summer vacations at the beach or by the pool- and I am obsessed!
I’m not the only one who loves this stuff, because their site offers a wide array of sunscreens, body oils, perfumes, lip balms, car fresheners- all with their signature sunblock scent. It’s SO good!
Although there is one fragrance I’ve been wearing just a little more often these days when I’m out and about…

Oh Roma! I cannot wait to visit you, your breathtaking scenery and ancient attractions, and indulge in wine and pasta to my heart’s content. While a trip to Italy is in the works (possibly in 2024!) Troy made sure to bring some of it home to me following a recent trip he made to the region his family came from- surprising me with shoes, dresses, accessories and this unbelievably beautiful perfume by Acqua di Taormina Parfums.
With notes of grapefruit, fig, and cedar, this woodsy scent in a pretty decorated bottle was one of my favorite things to unwrap- and while I planned to only wear it for special occasions to preserve it for as long as possible- it’s quickly become an every day perfume for me. I love it so much and feel so spoiled whenever I spritz some on!

And finally, another gift from Troy- although these all-natural and nourishing soaps from Bogue Milksoap came from Great Barrington rather than Italy. Out of a wide selection of types/fragrances, these two were the most luxurious and Summertime-scented (which is a must in my apartment this time of year!)
Whenever I use these in the bath or shower, my skin is left feeling soft, smooth, clean and soothed- making these the perfect indulgence during the hottest and most humid months here in New England!
And now with all of that in the books for the month- there’s a couple of other things I loved in June that I wanted to share, too!
– MOVIES/TELEVISION/GAMING –
‘I Think You Should Leave’ (Season 3) – Like most people on the internet and social media, I’ve been such a big fan of this absolutely insane, absurdist and Netflix-based sketch comedy series since Troy sat me down to watch the first season back in 2019. The most recent season dropped earlier this month and it’s filled with hilarious moments and endless quotes that go through my mind multiple times a day. I cannot stop watching it over and over!
‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ – It’s been a while since the last episode of the regular ‘Walking Dead’ series aired, but we’re finally getting into some of the character spinoff mini-series to tie up some loose ends, beginning with this Maggie & Negan series that follows the unlikely duo to New York City as they try to rescue Maggie’s son. The season is only a couple of episodes in so far, but I’ve really been enjoying it- especially because you can tell a lot of love and attention was poured into the story, which feels similar to the earlier seasons of TWD when it was at it’s peak in quality. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season- and the Daryl spinoff coming in the Fall!
And there we have it- another roundup of great products, stunning gifts and shows you have to add to your queue ASAP! I’m looking forward to seeing what I’ll have to share by the end of July when my next ‘Favorite Things’ post will be up here on tje blog- but I know I’m going to keep on enjoying these items for quite some time!
