OOTD: Coastal Comfort

Whenever I’ve fallen down the Pinterest or TikTok rabbit holes that are all about Summertime trends and fashion recently- I’m always a little giddy (and surprised) that so much of what’s considered in-style right now are things that myself and so many lifelong New Englanders have been wearing for years. “Coastal Cowgirl” and “Coastal Grandmother” aesthetics? Let me take you to Martha’s Vineyard, Newport and Mystic! They’ve got all of that and more!

This past weekend, when Dan and I were going for a post-brunch road trip to Connecticut- I felt inspired- and dressed for comfort and Cape Cod-cuteness since we were going to be seaside for a few hours.

This white skort (that’s right- it’s a skirt AND shorts! They’re making a comeback!) from Victoria’s Secret and this loose-fitting, low-cut, and lightweight navy/white striped tank top from Target helped keep me cool in the sun and classy when we were heading to the beach and checking out some of the local boutique shops and ice cream stands.

I also decided to pull it together with some of my big sunglasses (not pictured because I wanted an unobstructed view of my lobster roll), canvas sandals a puka shell necklace- because you will have to pry mine from my cold, dead hands before I ever voluntarily give it up or away!

I feel like I looked seasonal and cute during our outing- and this is an ensemble I’ll be packing up for my next adventure to the coast, for sure- which should be happening sooner than later!

And I’m excited to talk about the backdrop in these photos and our day trip a little later on this week, of course!
