Local Loves: The Beach Plum

One of my favorite things about living in New England during the Summertime is that there is no shortage of great seafood and lobster shacks in any given direction, but there’s a few in particular that are especially near and dear to my heart-not just because they’re a long-standing tradition- but because their location is picture perfect, too.

So when I had a half day at work earlier this week and, miraculously (and a rarity!), had nothing planned after I left the office- I decided to head back up to the coast in New Hampshire to grab a much-craved lobster roll I had been thinking about since Troy and I were last in the area during this past Memorial Day Weekend! And with the air quality warnings from the Canadian wildfire smoke finally coming to an end for the time being- I knew I could enjoy my lunch seaside and safely in North Hampton.

The Beach Plum, which now has multiple locations around New Hampshire- has been around for as long as I can remember- and was always the place to go to during Summertime day trips to the beach for lobster, clam strips, ice cream, etc. Their menu has pretty much everything and anything to satisfy a craving- especially when it comes to extensive ice cream flavors!

My favorite Beach Plum location is the one alongside Ocean Boulevard (heading towards Rye from Hampton Beach or vice versa!) because depending on the day/time you go, you can walk across the street and enjoy your snacks & sweets right next to the Atlantic.

When I went, it wasn’t busy at all (weekdays during the early afternoon- you can’t go wrong!) and I was able to enjoy a heaping helping of lobster on a grilled and buttered roll, a side of pasta salad, and refreshing, homemade lemonade while I watched the waves during high tide.

And if you’re visiting/staying anywhere near a Beach Plum location for a night/weekend, you can skip any potential lines and order delivery now, too!

I’m sure this most recent trip to The Beach Plum won’t be my last for the Summer 2023 season. The next time I’m in town- I’m getting soft serve!
